Biking in Victoria

With cooler weather and stunning colours, Fall is the perfect time to take your trusty steed and explore the beauty of the city. Whether heading out on a quick jaunt or riding the trails, there are lots of great spots to discover beautiful B.C.

1. Gorge Waterway

Start your morning on the Selkirk Trestle and find your way along the calm waters with early morning fog. The Gorge Waterway is full of colour this time of year and is the perfect spot to discover the beauty of the season.

2. Hatley Castle

A hop, skip, and a jump along the Galloping Goose trail takes you to the iconic scene of Hatley Castle and surrounding gardens. Not much says fall like walking through fallen leaves with a view of the ocean. Ride your bike a little further to take a break at Goldstream Park. There is not much on the Island that beats the beauty of this National Park. And you can catch the annual Salmon Run.

3. Lochside Trail

For those feeling more adventurous, the Lochside Trail takes you a fair distance out into Saanich. Along the way, you can find pumpkin patches and gorgeous farmland brimming with colourful scenes.

4. Ross Bay Cemetery

We know there are those of your out there who live for the Halloween season and delight in the creepier aspects of October. Ross Bay Cemetery is for you. With plenty of ghost stories and foggy evenings, this spot is a must-see for spooky souls. Take your bike down Dallas Rd., stop for a thrilling stroll, and continue along Beach Dr. to take in the mountain views.

5. Beacon Hill Park

For those of us that prefer a quiet (and shorter) stroll over an adventurous ride, there is Beacon Hill Park. With 200 acres of beauty to behold, this centrally located park has plenty to explore.
